Level B1 will start with a revision of the notions (grammar, vocabulary...) learnt during all the process of level A.
At level B, the abstract dimension and representation are introduced. The competences you will acquire are not only about concrete everyday life anymore.
Each new level develops and reinforces the notions, vocabulary and competences learnt in the previous level. Only new notions and competences are explained in the programme summaries below:
At the end of level B1, you will be able to:
- Describe a place,
- Describe a natural phenomenon,
- Describe anecdotes,
- Tell about a dream,
- Inform about what other people have said,
- Formulate hypothesis
- Express the condition, the certitude, the possibility,
- Not only give your opinions, but explain the reasons why you have these opinions,
- Explain the reasons of your actions, of your choices of life, of your projects,
- Highlight something you think is important,
- Make a structured presentation in different parts,
- Prepare a (fictitious or real) interview,
- Write a text in the form of a (short) biography,
- Start synthetising in a simple way several documents that talk about a common theme...
You will learn a new past tense called the "plus que parfait", a verbal mode used to express hypothesis, or possibility, the different registers of language will be introduced...
You will also learn the vocabulary of:
- fashion
- cultural subjects: cinema, litterature, painting, musique, shows...
- the media...
And many more subjects.
At the end of level B2, you will be able to:
- Synthetise in a more detailed way,
- Defend your opinions,
- Present advantages and disadvantages of different opinions or situations of life,
- Develop more your ideas and your opinions,
- Develop a logic and coherent (and convincing) argument,
- Analyse a text,
- Express degrees in certitude ou doubt...
You will learn a new tense: the "futur antérieur"...
You will learn some vocabulary about:
- sciences, medecine, law...
- feelings and emotions,
- problems of society
- environment, climate, ecology,
- economy,
- technologies...
